Day 1
Leaving from the US for Madrid, Spain.
Day 2
Bienvenidos a Madrid! Explore the capital of Spain before meeting up with your tour director and fellow travelers to begin this adventure. In the late afternoon, the group will travel to the Southern region of Spain: Andalucia.
Day 3
Our first stop in this fabulous region will be Córdoba. Be prepared to witness some of the best Jewish, Arabic and Christian architecture in Spain. This city’s greatest glory was when it became the capital of the Moorish Kingdom of El-Andalus until the year 1236, when it was reconquered by the Christians. Upon this reconquest, the Christians were so impressed with the Mosque (one of the largest in the Islamic world), they decided to build the cathedral in the midst of its rows of arches and columns, creating a unique church-mosque that we see today. At night, we will see an equestrian show by the world famous Andalusian horses.
Day 4
After breakfast, we will be on the way to one of the most important and magical cities in the South of Spain: Granada. Upon arrival, we will have a guided tour of the most visited architecture in Spain: La Alhambra (Red Castle). This magnificent Moorish architectural will take you back to the 13th century - the splendid times of the Moorish period in Spain. At night, we will experience a Flamenco-Dinner show at its best.
Day 5
On this day, we will depart towards one of the jewels of Spain: The grandiose city of Seville. At night, we will gather for dinner (included).
Day 6
After breakfast, the group will have a guided tour of this spectacular city, and hear stories and tales about Christopher Columbus prior to his departure to the Americas. In the late afternoon, the group will meet to be entertained by a river cruise.
Day 7
Today we will be depart towards Tavira, a delightful Portuguese town situated close to the coastline. This charming town, typically known by its calm and relaxed atmosphere, still offers an extensive variety of enjoyable activities. This is one on the many locations where once can experience Portuguese daily life and find a good souvenir.
Day 8
In the morning, the group will depart towards the gorgeous town of Carvoeiro for the next adventure. This picturesque place is located along the stunning coastline of the Algarve where you will also participate on a small boat tour of the breathtaking coastline caves (weather permitting).
Day 9
Today we will depart towards Evora, a delightful city that exudes Portuguese charm and boasts a vast array of fascinating historical monuments. The group will have the opportunity to taste local wines during lunch time (included).
Day 10
In the morning, we will depart for Lisbon. This stunning capital city of Portugal is one of the most charismatic and vibrant cities of Western Europe.
Day 11
After breakfast we will take a journey exploring Sintra, a very charismatic town within 40 minutes of Lisbon. In the afternoon, we will return to Lisbon for you to enjoy at your own pace until dinner time where we will gather for our farewell dinner and say adiós to Spain, Portugal and newfound friends.
Day 12
Return to the United States.
Where Will I Stay?
Worlds of Spain offers multiple night stays in select/boutique hotels, centrally located for tourist attractions and shopping. To offer the best possible price to our participants, rooms are based on double occupancy. Individual rooms are available, but at an additional cost of $950.
